the end of june!

Hello!

It has been a little bit since I've updated my blog!  Sorry about that!  June has flown by for Rygh and me and I'm a little tired!  I finally have a day at home to catch up on a few things!  Last weekend, my good friend from Dallas came to see me, Amanda.  She brought her little dog, Anastasia!  Anastasia really enjoyed the "ranch life."  She went on a long, hot walk with Amanda and me.  She tramped through the grass, rolled multiple times in fresh cow poop, and then went for a swim in the tank.  She was a bit dirty!  She got a bath before she headed back to Dallas!

The dogs hanging out in the cool dirt...

Anastasia in all her glory

My knock out roses are blooming!

I signed up for birchbox!  Every month you get free beauty samples!  This month I got cleanser wipes, stainac lip gloss, shampoo, and fake eyelashes!  Can't wait to see what I get next month!

This is what Rygh has been up to...he has bailed 242 bales this week!

I made some Funfetti Cake Batter Cookies! They are for the police and fire department in Stephenville!

Hope everyone is having a great week!

Under the weather!

Hello! So this week has been a bit busy and a little rough! We came home last Sunday and the a/c went out! Now if you live in Texas, you know this is a big deal! Well, after the a/c guy worked on it for two days, it works again! Rygh and I both worked hard this week! On Thursday, I was driving home from work and my car decided it was done! After some rumbling and all the lights turning on the dashboard, I made it to Trans Texas! Hopefully, it will be fixed tomorrow! To top it all off, I worked til 10 Friday night because I was on call and then got strep throat the next day!!! After a very painful shot in the rump and horse pills, I am feeling a bit better! Here's to next week! Happy father's day to my dad and father in law! I hope y'all are having a great day! Right now, Rygh and I are sitting on the porch watching the rain! Hope everyone has a great week! Lyn

graduation and birthday weekend!

Hello!

This weekend Rygh and I went to Houston to celebrate my sister's graduation from American Intercontinental University!  She graduated summa cum laude!  Congratulations Kate!

We celebrated graduation and Jake's 13th birthday at Taste of Texas!  Taste of Texas is the best steakhouse in my opinion!  They have a fabulous salad bar, fabulous steaks, and cinnamon ice cream made by Blue Bell only for Taste of Texas!  so so so good!!

Happy 13th Birthday Jake!

Happy Graduation Kate!

After a fabulous lunch at Taste of Texas, we headed to the Hyatt Lost Pines!   My parents, grandpa, Kate and her family, Michael, and Rygh and me all had a great time!  We had a lot of fun tubing the Lazy River, eating smores, and just hanging out!  We had a great dinner at Stories!

Enjoying the Lazy River!

Dinner at Stories with my main squeeze and family!

sweet Ashlynn fell asleep at dinner

biggest dog I've ever seen!  His name is Hoss and he is a Newfoundland!

Rygh and I drove back to Stephenville today.  We watched our wedding video!  It was great and such a great memory!  We laughed so hard at some of the things we said that the microphone captured!  At our wedding we took communion.  Rygh tore this huge piece of bread for me.  I looked at it with wide eyes and he said "you don't have to eat it all!"

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

The p's and c's of being a pacu nurse!

Hey all! So I have really been enjoying my new job! I have been working at a hospital around here in their recovery room. The hospital does ortho, gyn, pain management, gi, gu, and kids! It's been fun seeing a little bit of everything! I have been working four days a week about 8-10 hours a day. Not too shabby! I get to work around 730 and leave around 430. This means I can actually see people after work, cook dinner for my husband, and even relax a bit before bed! I have been thinking of the pros and cons of my new job....I've decided to write them out so I can look back in a year and see if I still agree with this! Pros... 1. I start at 730 instead of 630! 2. I take care of one patient for a max of an hour...I.e. I don't have to put up with drama for long 3. I laugh everyday at the things people say coming out of anesthesia! "I love you baby". "not now baby". 4. People also make really funny faces 5. I have only cleaned poop up once once since I've been working here...praise the good Lord! 6. I get a full 30 minutes for lunch! Who knew there were people that could relieve you? 7. I don't carry a nortel phone.. 8. I have doctors cell phone numbers.. No more answering services and wondering if they are going to call back! 9. I take care of 3-4 patients a day so I have some down time. 10. I'm not running around like a chicken with its head cut off! 11. The only people I have to deal with are scrubs, circulators, crna's, surgeons, and anesthesiologists! 12. I don't have to buy scrubs anymore! They are hospital issued! 13. I can do stuff after work because I'm not absolutely exhausted! 14. Patients already have iv's that work! Cons... 1. Though my scrubs are hospital issued... I have only found medium and larges so I sport rolled up pants everyday! 2. I'm on call 4 days a month. Life isn't bad these days! I am very thankful for this opportunity and I'm learning a lot! Hope everyone is having a great week! Lyn

the veribest of our weekend

Hello!

Rygh and I had an exciting weekend in San Angelo with Jeff and Emily this weekend!  First off, on Saturday morning we drove to Greenwood, Texas to check out Jeff's new house!  It's a beautiful house!  Rygh is a little bit sad about Jeff leaving Stephenville but we wish him the best! After checking out Jeff's house we went back to San Angelo and had a great lunch made by Emily! We headed out on Lake Nasworthy on the jet skies! We had a great time and everyone got thrown off at least once!  After a little jet ski trouble we made it back home!  We ate dinner at the so called legendary Lowake Steakhouse!  Rygh and Jeff think this place is great!  I was pretty good...I got a shirt!

We started with a huge stack of onion rings, spicy fried pickles, and fried mushrooms....we probably could have been done eating here...but we continued on

We had rib eyes, chicken fried steak, and steak fingers with french fries, baked potatoes, and mashed potatoes!  And don't forget we also went to the salad bar.

Beautiful west Texas!

We had a great weekend in San Angelo!  Thanks Jeff for inviting us!   We drove through Veribest, Texas and saw the Veribest Methodist Church and the Veribest Post Office.  Thanks for showing me West Texas!

We got home this afternoon and did some laundry and errands.  Buster got a summer haircut and a bath!  Let's just say he looks sleek...

Hope everyone had a great weekend and will have a great week!
